History

Diponegoro University was founded in 1957 as one of Indonesia’s leading state universities. The Faculty of Economics was established on March 14, 1960, and was initially part of the Faculty of Law, Social, and Political Sciences (FHSP) before becoming an independent faculty. Initially, the faculty offered only a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (S1).

In line with the development and needs of higher education, the Faculty of Economics expanded its academic scope by opening a Master’s Program (S2), a Doctoral Program (S3), and a Professional Accounting Program (PPAk). The main majors within this faculty include Management, Accounting, and Economics/Development.

History and Profile

In 2011, the Faculty of Economics officially changed its name to the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), reflecting a broader scientific orientation encompassing economics, business, and management in line with global developments.

The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Diponegoro University (UNDIP) has achieved A-level accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) for all study programs. Furthermore, in November 2020, FEB UNDIP successfully obtained international accreditation from the Germany-based FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation). This achievement confirms FEB UNDIP’s position as one of the leading economics and business faculties in Indonesia, meeting international standards.

FEB UNDIP offers education at various levels:

Bachelor’s Program (S1) majoring in Management, Accounting, and Economics/Development.

Master’s Program (S2) comprising the Master of Management (1997), Master of Accounting (1999), and Master of Economics (2000).

Doctoral Program (S3) opened in 2002.

The Accounting Profession Program (PPAk) was established in 2003 to produce professionals in the fields of accounting and finance.

Since 2010, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNDIP’s undergraduate program has occupied a modern campus at Prof. Soedarto, SH., Tembalang, Semarang, while the Postgraduate Program and PPAk are located at the Erlangga Campus, Jl. Erlangga Tengah No. 17, Semarang.

FEB UNDIP is committed to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through quality education, excellent research, and community service. The faculty actively collaborates with international universities, government institutions, and the industrial sector to strengthen academic quality and scientific relevance. FEB UNDIP also regularly holds seminars, conferences, and scientific discussions that support the development of national economic policy.
